HELLO!
My name is Annalise Prentiss (she/her), and I am a singer, dancer, actor, creator, and activist based in New York City. I was born in Escuintla, Guatemala, and at three months old, I was adopted and moved to Lancaster, PA - my favorite spot in the whole country!
I graduated from The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a Minor in Spanish. Class of 2024! Currently, I am rehearsing in my hometown at The Fulton Theatre, playing Zoe Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen.
Most recently I debarked the Disney Destiny, where I was a part of their opening cast, playing Moana (Seas The Adventure) and understudying Meg (Hercules) and Anna (Frozen) in their Mainstage shows. Previous to the Destiny, I sailed on the Disney Wish, playing Ariel (The Little Mermaid) and Moana (Seas The Adventure). Even though ship life is a boatload of fun (pun intended), I am most excited to be back on land!
All throughout college, I worked on training for this industry but also delved into a deep personal exploration - focusing on living in the in-between of being adopted by white parents. I dedicate a lot of my time to speaking out about the struggles of adoption, identity battles, and my personal evolution of reconnecting with my Guatemalan heritage. Any opportunity that I can get, whether in life or theatre specifically, to talk about my story and represent my identity is so meaningful. Eventually in life, I want to create an original work that combines my personal story with theatre and that speaks to the community of adoptees, letting them know that there are others like them.
I dedicate the other half of my time to family game nights, spontaneous adventures, walks outside, and by watching every sitcom and Disney/Pixar movie that ever existed. The other half of me is deeply devoted to horror films and thrilling limited series. The best of both worlds!
